Which to pick
5DEV pedals are CNC-machined aluminum flat pedals made in San Diego by the bike division of precision machining firm 5th Axis. There are two models on the same 106 x 110 mm platform: the All Around (10 pins per side, listed at 365 g per pair) and the lighter, more aggressive Trail/Enduro (listed at 343 g per pair). Pick the Trail/Enduro for technical trail and enduro riding, or the All Around for mixed riding.

Best for: Riders building a matching US-made drivetrain
Machined cranks for mountain, gravel and Bosch e-bikes, made on the same machines as 5th Axis aerospace and medical parts.
5DEV is known for machining bike parts to aerospace-grade tolerances in the USA. It is the cycling division of 5th Axis, a San Diego machine shop whose day job is complex components for the aerospace and medical industries.
The range covers cranks, chainrings, stems and two flat pedals. Everything is machined in-house, which puts 5DEV in the premium price tier alongside other small-batch makers.
The Trail/Enduro is the gravity-leaning model. It shares the 106 x 110 mm platform, uses a 24-pin layout and is listed at 343 g per pair.
The All Around runs 10 pins per side on the same platform, listed at 365 g per pair. It suits riders who want one grippy pedal for trail rides, commuting and everything between.
Both use a 17-4 stainless steel spindle with an IGUS bushing and four sealed bearings, so they reward occasional cleaning and regreasing. Our grease and lube guide covers what to use.
Both pedals use a standard 9/16” thread and suit flat-pedal shoes with a flat, sticky sole.
5DEV’s 106 x 110 mm platform is broader than the Burgtec Penthouse MK5 and close in size to the OneUp Aluminum. The Hope F22 is the closest match in philosophy: a machined, fully serviceable pedal made by a company that builds its own parts.
If you want a lighter, cheaper flat, a composite pedal like the SDG Comp does the job. For the full field, see our flat pedals guide.
5DEV pedals are machined in San Diego, California, by 5th Axis, a company that also makes aerospace and medical components and holds ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and AS9100 certification.
Both use the same 106 x 110 mm platform and bushing-plus-bearing internals. The Trail/Enduro is listed slightly lighter and uses a 24-pin layout, while the All Around runs 10 pins per side.
No. Both 5DEV pedals are flats. For clipless options, see our clipless pedals guide.
Yes, if your cranks take standard 9/16" pedals, which covers nearly all adult bikes. Grease the threads and remember the left pedal is reverse threaded.
