About DrPedal
DrPedal is an independent guide to bicycle pedals — "the pedal doctor" for fit, compatibility, setup and buying advice.
What we do
Pedals are the most confusing small part on a bike. Three cleat bolt patterns, two thread sizes, float measured in degrees, left-hand threads, spindle lengths, pins, cages and straps. We answer those questions in plain English, then point you to current models that fit.
What we don't do
- We don't sell anything. There's no shop, cart or stock here. DrPedal.com used to be a pedal store's address; this site is a new, separate, independent guide and is not that business.
- We don't invent test results. See how we research below.
- We don't print prices. They change daily. The "Check price" buttons show the live price at the retailer.
- We don't accept payment for placement. Brands can't buy a spot in a guide.
How we research
- Independent. No brand, shop or distributor owns or pays DrPedal, and brands can't buy a place in a guide.
- No free products. We don't accept review samples or gifts from manufacturers.
- No hands-on test claims. We don't claim to have ridden or tested the products we write about. Pages explain products from their published specifications, design and widely documented behaviour.
- Specs from the source. Numbers such as float, release angle, thread size, weight and platform size come from the manufacturer's own pages and manuals, or from major retailers' copies of the manufacturer's spec sheet. When sources disagree or we can't confirm a figure, we leave it out rather than guess.
- Dated and reviewed. Every page shows when it was last updated. We review pages when products are replaced, discontinued or re-specced, and say so on the page.
- Corrections welcome. Spotted an error or an out-of-date model? Tell us on the contact page and we'll check it and fix the page.
How we make money
Some links go to Amazon. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We also reserve space for display ads. Neither changes which products we recommend. Full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Manufacturers update models and specs. If something on a page is out of date, tell us via the contact page and we fix it — pages show the date they were last updated.
